Fogarty & Nowak Alaska Road Trip travel blog

Broadway at 6 am by 10 will be wall to wall people

We stayed at a old Inn where the rooms were named for...

The harbor at Skagway

The ferry we left on was the Columbia which was more like...

There were provisions for camping on the top deck

It was overcast and raining as we departed Skagway

Skagway is a tourist town and when there are several cruise ships docked it is wall to wall people. The main thorough fare is not long but it still took us the whole day to get through it when we had to stop at EVERY gift and souvenir shop along the way. We saw a school of salmon being pursued by two seals as they tried to make their way out of the harbor and up the fish ladders. We were all surprised at the accommodations and amenities on the ferry “Columbia” which we left on. It was more like a cruise liner than a ferry.
