We are staying right now just outside of Bullhead City on the Colorado river. A lovely campground which is part of Lake Meade NRA, very quiet, secluded and all around us are blooming Oleander trees. The weather is perfect with temperatures constant around 28C.
We celebrated Easter with our cousins and worshipped at the United Reformed Church. What a contrast with Good Friday when we were at a little bible church in the mountains. There a small congregation of about 20, a pastor who preached a fitting simple message but alsi accompanied the singing with guitar and a singing duo. Here a large URC, a full choir, a magnificent organ and pastor Adrian Dieleman (some in Stratford may remember him) preaching the Easter message. All perfectly choreographed. But God knows our heart.
We travelled around Las Vegas to the Lake Mead NRA which stretches north of Las Vegas all along the Colorado River past the Hoover Dam to where we are now. We visited the Valley of Fire State Park which is a wonder of beautiful rock in all bright yellow and orange colors. Absolutely stunning, no picture can do justice to it.
The water above the Hoover Dam is so low that boat ramps had to be extended several times in order to reach the lake. They say this is all do to the reduced snow in the Colorado mountains and the over-use of water for irrigation here and in Southern California.
Monday we are heading Eastward which gives us 12 days to get home.
