We have been neglecting our posting!
After leaving Ft. Myers and the Woodsmoke Resort, we visited, Patti's mother in Venice, Florida. The highlight of that stopover was celebrating Dorothy's 95th birthday. Happy to report that, with the exception of some hearing and vision changes, she is as independent as ever. Her friends and neighbors came over in the evening for birthday cake and wine to honor this spry nonagenarian!
While in Venice we stayed at the Florida Pines RV Park. Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised by the well-kept grounds and , once again, had 50 amp shore power. Our next door neighbor (a 6-month resident who lived in a park model home) was especially thoughtful, showing us around her imaginative, oft-times whimsical garden! After hearing that Patti missed her houseplants (left behind in Karen's care) this lovely lady gifted us with a succulent dish garden. How kind! And much appreciated.
We are discovering for ourselves that, ”as advertised“ RV'ers are a helpful and friendly group of folks.
As this is written we have moved ever-so-slightly north to Sarasota, Florida where we are staying at the Windward
Isle RV park. Once again, we have found ourselves in a semi-permanent community of park model homes... which means that we can enjoy the same amenities as the residents:swimming pools, club houses, fitness centers, etc.
Until next time ...
