Today is Saturday, after driving to Quartzsite and staying there in an awful campsite for 1 night we arrived Friday in Lake Havasu which is on the border with California. We had heard much about this place but after checking in at the National Park we soon found out this was not for us. The noise and stink from the many power boats and seadoos on the lake made us flee for more quieter surroundings.
So we are now staying on BLM lands, these are public lands where you can camp for free and have no conveniences what so ever. You are just parked in the desert between rocks and shrubs and can be one with nature. GREAT. There are a few more campers we can see but we are not crowded like in most other places we have been.
It does not help that March break here is staggered from area to area March through April.
Temperatures during the day are around 36C here but luckily they drop to 15 during the night.
Fuel prices are much better here than in Canada, we have paid as low as $2.59 per gallon for diesel and gas prices run around $2.49 p/g.
