Well it is finally time to leave Brownsville and head for Tucson. Got up early this AM to more rain. Cindy, Frank, Dave and Diane came to see us off. Bernice who has been our neighbor here all winter also came over to say goodbye. Good thing it was raining because there were a few tears. We had so much fun with these guys while we were here. We went to Mexico a few times, went to the flea markets, participated in a dinner play. We will miss the potlucks on Thursdays, the Bingo on Wednesdays, and I know Paul is really going to miss golf on Mondays.
We took off about 8:20 and then stopped in a little town called Sarita for breakfast. Paul did remember to ask for toast instead of tortillas. Don't think he will ever get used to the southwest breakfast traditions. Our journey continued down Rt 44 whee it was pretty desolate. We finally went through a little town called Freer that had one gas station with a sign that read "next service area 60 miles". Guess they had the corner on the gas market! As we continued on the road got bumpier and bumpier. Not a good area to break down we think. (Just saying) We finally arrived in Eagle Pass, TX at 3:45 and will call it a day!!!
