We have spent the last week here at the Elks Lodge RV Park in Santa Maria with our very good friends, Linda & Jerry. While we haven't been doing much more than enjoy the company of good friends, it has been very relaxing. I have been trying to keep up on my bike riding and one day Jerry joined me for my daily ride.
Over the weekend Linda & Jerry's niece Kim and her husband arrived for the weekend in their 5th wheel. Great people and very enjoyable to visit and spend time with. Kim and Richard made a meal one evening with their version of Fajitas made in their custom made wok. Until you try their version, everything else is average at the very best. They have the seasonings and cooking down to a very flavorful and satisfying meal.
On our last evening in town, we went up the road to Nipomo for a great dinner at Jocko's Steak House. The place is packed every night and you need reservations to get in. On the day we went, I called for reservations before noon and the only times available were 4:30 or 7:30PM. We opted for the earlier time and were rewarded with outstanding meals. Quality and value were great for anyone looking for a great steak house in this part of the state.
Just as we were getting ready to leave Santa Maria and head to Simi Valley, Jerry's electrical cord burnt out at the pedestal end of the cord. He replaced the receptacle on the cord, but still couldn't get power to his coach. We attached the 30amp adaptor and for some reason, that allowed some power through. But it is clear there are some greater issues with their power supply. They suggested we head on over to Simi Valley and they would follow the next day.
One more thing about the picture. While in the Monterey area, the AT & T Golf Classic was happening and this blimp was there for the aerial shots for TV. We saw it passing over Santa Maria a few days later.
