After a day with some retail therapy in Knysna followed by an afternoon by the pool I was reminded I am on holiday. Wednesday I travelled to Tsitsikhama NP which was mostly trees but also a beautiful beach where I managed a paddle in the Indian Ocean.

Thursday golf at Simola was to some extent spoiled by the fact it rained again! (I can here the sympathetic cry) everyone has to use buggies at Simola a fantastic course with miles in between green and tee, hills and dales and views of the sea and hills through the mist. The team I am in manage to win the 4 BBB mostly due to one chap who scores 37 pts, a case of beware the injured golfer as he has had an upset stomach for days and has used up everyone's Immodium and Rehydration sachets. At the end of the round I have to have a cup of tea as I am cold and damp!

Friday scorching we play at Plettenburg or Plett as the locals call it! Another lovely course but supposedly easier, there are only two buggies available and as there are others who need them more than I ( yes it is possible) I set off to walk pulling a trolley. I discover on the first hole I have a Tesco reject with one tyre about to drop off. At the halfway house I get a caddie who not only manages the trolley but chases off a troop of baboons at least forty strong. Don't manage to take pictures you may be relieved to read.

Eat at The Lookout on Plettenberg beach fantastic.

Saturday, today leave George in rain the bus breaks down on the way to the airport but we are rescued and catch the flight in time, change at Jo Burg for the forty minute flight to Nelspruit, on the edge of Kruger NP. Stepping off the plane is like stepping into the oven. Golf tomorrow at Sabie River GC where one of the hazards is Hippos and crocs, well that's two hazards really, I shall try to avoid them.
