Knysna from the water

Saturday was spent travelling by road from Stellenbosch to Knysna. We had a couple of comfort stops and a couple to admire the view. Note in the photo of me the white feet and red legs! An attractive feature we all seem to share.

In Knysna we are staying in a luxurious hotel Conrad Pezula, such a contrast from the first place, I have a suite which overlooks Pezula GC as do all. I had a mongoose on my lawn( they eat snakes don't they) and there are notices everywhere warning us not to confront or feed the baboons.

On Sunday we played Knysna GC, horror of horrors, I had to buy an umbrella! That's three I have now, but unfortunately only one with me. It is a lovely tree lined course on the flat with lots of water, I walked the course with a rather disinterested caddie. When he had given me the line of a putt " left one ball madam" and I missed right his comment was " I told you left" those were more or less the last words he spoke to me!

Playing immediately behind our party were Sue and John Poulter!

Monday the sun shone again and the wind blew, Pezula GC is a fantastic course but one I would like to play again now that I know where to go, it had many blind shots, carries over gorges, very well placed bunkers and difficult greens.

In the evening a boat trip out to visit The Heads 90 minutes cruise just enough time to enjoy a glass of Sauvignon and view the sea at the mouth of the lagoon.

Today a day off, after a lie in, a trip to Knysna and a swim this afternoon, might even manage to finish my book.
