Well we have finally been getting some much needed sun. We have been able to use the pool and get outside for some exercise. We continue to stay busy with all the activities here in the park and Paul has been lucky and hasn't had to miss any golf on Mondays.

We decided to take advantage of the good weather and go on one of the shrimp boil dinner cruises out at Padre Island. It was a 4 hour adventure and I couldn't help but have a flashback to Gilligans Island. As it was Friday the 13th, I just imagined what could happen on a 4 hr tour! It was a beautiful day as we started out. The sun was shining and there wasn't any wind. We got to see the dolphins as they swam beside our tour boat. They were too quick for pictures however. All of our friends from here in the park were with us and we had a lot of laughs as we continued down the coastal highway of the Gulf of Mexico. In the distance we saw huge oil refineries and boats that had been confiscated from the drug cartel. We were told that they used to auction the boats off but found out they were being returned to the cartel so they stopped. Now they use them for target practice and then they sink them. As we progressed further we were able to see some aircraft carriers that were in port being dismantled. At one point we were instructed not to take any more pictures as there was government activities going on that they didn't want any pictures taken of. When we reached the end of Port Brownsville we made the turn to take us back to Padre Island. Soon thereafter the crew announced that dinner was ready. We proceeded to fill our plates up with corn, red potatoes, sausage and all the shrimp we could eat. It was absolutely delicious. Of course during this whole trip there was all you could drink beer as well. I think most of us were a little tipsy at this point and needed to eat. We continued with our meal as we headed back. The wind did pick up a little but it was still a very pleasant day. One of the women from our group even blessed us with a song. She usually plays guitar when she sings but has a very good voice so we enjoyed the entertainment. We got to meet some new people on the tour as well and spent some time hearing their stories. It made for a fun and interesting day.

Today is going to be a quiet day at the pool and then a valentines dance at the rec hall tonight. Life is good!!!!!!!!
