This morning the heavy rains and storms came and we packed up and left Kiama. It is such a hilly place. The beaches are very nice and are in bays. The sun came out for a little while. Some of the streets are so hilly and we ended up crossing a bridge which was only as wide as the Motorhome before joining the Princes Highway. This road has been done up considerably over the years. We decided that because the weather was so bad we would keep on driving, sadly passing all the pretty towns along the way. But the weather in Victoria is much better so we are making time down there.
We stopped at Bodalla at the cheese factory and tasted some of the cheese in the cafe. We chose some different tasty ones. I would have bought some milk as it is a dairy too but we had plenty in the fridge. I also got some lavender oil at a nearby little shop. We stopped along the way to buy cherries from a stall, and we were going past the oyster farm and called in for some oysters.
We stopped for the night at the Bodalla rest area. It has a small entrance but you drive into one of the prettiest rest areas there is. It is still raining with little respite. Tonight we had oysters Kilpatrick, our favourite.
We were thinking of doing the two kilometre walk but the entrance to the walk is like a fast flowing river.
