After our afternoon in Stout Grove we arrived back in town in time to drive back north a bit along the coast for one last stop at a few of the local favorite views. Larry found a new friend at Lone Ranch who had an amazing expensive toy. Of course he was happy to demonstrate it's movements for us while Larry oohed & aahed. Now if we just had a spare grand or more :)
After a few stops we arrived at our real destination, Harris Beach. I'd been praying that the rain would hold off so that we could take one last walk on Harris Beach before hitting the road. If you've been reading this blog for long you know that Harris Beach is my favorite beach. The rock formations in this area are great & when the tide is out there's plenty of interesting spots to explore. The tide was out when we arrived and we spent a good hour walking along the shoreline. There weren't many folks today but the one's we encountered had dogs so everyone abided by the 'leash law'. Sometimes we get lucky & we're alone so Onyx gets free rein, at least part of the time.
Unfortunately we didn't get the sunny skies & beautiful sunsets this trip but we still enjoyed strolling along & Onyx loved her walk. She cracks us up as she does this 'girl scream' when we arrive...Oh how she loves the ocean. Unless the water actually touches her, then not so much, lol.
After our walk we enjoyed one last dinner with the kids. Kelly made tacos tonight, one of our favorite meals. And did I mention that Don gathered mushrooms the day before & made a batch of delicious mushroom soup/chowder? Lisa came by with granddaughter Maya so we got hugs & kisses from everyone before heading out. I can't believe our time together is up so quickly but the weather is changing & it's time to head for Nevada. Hopefully it won't be raining when we break camp & we'll see you on down the road...
