|Running a couple of days behind, sorry about that. We left Lincoln City Monday planning on a leisurely trip down the coast, destination Port Orford. We've never camped in Port Orford before & every time we 'fly' past I comment that I'd love to spend a day or two exploring that particular area of the coast.
Everything was going smoothly until just south of Florence when a loud 'pow' brought us to a slow halt. We'd blown a hose but a very important one. Without it, not enough power to pull the 5'er. So, we contacted our Good Sam Roadside Assistance for the first time since purchasing it a couple of years ago. We explained the situation & they ultimately sent two wreckers out to our location, a flatbed for the truck & a pickup with 5th wheel hitch for our home. Florence was the closest town but the only diesel mechanic was out for a week with a pinched nerve in his back. So, Good Sam towed us into Coos Bay & we wound up spending 3 nights there. We'd planned to have our oil & transmission serviced soon so went ahead & dealt with it while the dealership waited for our part to arrive. Unfortunately, it rained the entire time we were there so no sight-seeing, bummer...
It took 3 1/2 hours to complete our vehicle issues so it was dark by the time we arrived in Coos Bay, so the only pics I have to share today were taken before the 'incident'...It was windy, but a beautiful day as we traveled so here's hoping we get better weather as we make our way to Brookings. We'll land in Bandon next post, see you there :)
