North Dakota - Fall 2014 travel blog

Traveling south on US 83 we head for South Dakota. Along the way of all the farming and ranching, we came through a small town of Strasburg which is the home town of Lawrence Welk. There are many things in this little town named after Mr. Welk. Dale and I both grew up watching the Lawrence Welk Show so it was great to see where he came from. He was always proud of his roots and now after visiting this state we can understand why.

We stayed at American RV Park in Murdo, SD just for the night.

Just a note on the RV parks along the way. Most parks close here by September 30 so we weren't sure what we would find open or the condition. Here again, all along the way, we have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of RV parks. Many are staying open a little longer because they have had such a beautiful September, and the people and parks have been great. Also a note: NO TRASH ALONG THE ROADSIDE, like we have seen in so many states.
