Badlands/White River KOA, 20720 SD Hwy 44, Interior, SD 57750, 605-433-5337

Today along the road we crossed the wide Missouri. Along our way we saw acres and acres of sunflowers. South Dakota must have outdone Kansas as the sunflower state. This campground is very nice. It is like an oasis in the middle of the Badlands. The sites are flat and graveled and there are many trees. It is about six miles outside the National Park. When we arrived we found a couple who have been at the last two campgrounds with us. We spent the afternoon visiting with them. They will leave tomorrow for Sturgis and we will probably not cross paths again but we did exchange information in case they passed through Georgia or we got back to Connecticut. The weather here is nice in the high 70s. Tomorrow we will begin to explore the Badlands.
