Rambling Rodericks travel blog

Jim and Shirley Shotwell own the Nugget campground in St. Regis, Montana. Sister and brother-in-law Shelley and Ronnie suggested we stay there if possible. The Shotwells, whom they have met, are the brother and sister-in-law to Shelley and Ronnie's best friends, and friends of ours, Rob and Cecelia Shotwell.

It was near the end of the season for the Shotwells. They were very busy and couldn't socialize much, but we did get to enjoy their company somewhat.

From there we took several day trips out and about. We went to Thompson Falls where the best man and matron of honor for our wedding first came to California from. Though George has since passed on from cancer, Leona and a daughter (who used to be a river raft guide in Coloma where we lived for a while) still live in Thompson Falls.

We also took a couple drives on forest service roads through the woods of Montana over to the Idaho side, north and south of the main highway we were traveling, Hwy 90.
