|Thur., Aug. 21st – My navigational skills weren’t the best today. I sent Steve down a country road through the corn fields of South Dakota looking for a COE campground that was suppose to be on a lake….after 10 miles with no lake in sight and nowhere to turn this rig around, we decided there must be another Hwy 52! Sure enough, we got back on track and found Cottonwood Corp of Engineer Campground on Lake Yankton. It was a lovely spot for an overnight stay. These COE parks are sometimes hard to find, but well worth the effort – and with only a $9 senior pass fee, it made up for the fuel we burned getting lost.
