|Chuck wasn't feeling well so he stayed at the hotel today. After breakfast the group rode the train through Winteregg and changed to a cable car at Grutschalp down to Lauterbrunnen to board the bus. Our first stop was Tummerbach Falls. We took a rail car to the upper falls. The rail guy tried to trick us to think we had to climb up a ladder from the car, but really we got off the back of the car. We walked up many flights of stairs to see the chutes. Then we walked all the way back down to the ground level and saw 10 chutes today. After a cup of coffee, we boarded the bus and drove to Interlaken. Interlaken means "land between the lakes". It used to be many small towns but now is one. The center of the town is a cow pasture. I window shopped then went to a chocolate show at Schuh. Stephen was the chocolatier. It reminded me of David Honan's chocolate shop with delicious swiss chocolate. Summer and McDonalds and I ate outside at Schuh and watched parasailing off the mountain. We took the bus back to the cable cars and back to Murren. Summers and I walked around town, but everything is so VERY expensive. I looked at sweaters everywhere we went today and there were none make in Switzerland. All of them were imported from France, Sweden, Spain, etc. We walked back up to the hotel (there are only 2 roads in Murren) and passed a small church. Of course we checked to see if it was open, and sure enough, we walked inside. Kanene and I believe it was a Lutheran church and it had a pipe organ in the very front.
After returning to the room I took a nap before we headed downstairs for dinner. Chuck and I had the special, Raciette and potatoes which is a German specialty. We ended the meal with creme brule!!!!
Tomorrow we are hoping for better weather so we can go to the top, Schilthorn.
