|This is another historical town that is very scenic. We toured the antique wooden boat museum - many beautiful boats - makes one understand the appeal of those wooden boats that would be such a job to maintain. The museum included canoes and early boats used in the area that were essentially canoes with sails to early power boats. We saw early motors and then boats from the 1920's on up. Outside there were wet slips with antique wooden boats as well. The museum hosted a wooden boat event last weekend that would have been something to see but today there were trials for the racing event taking place this weekend. We saw all kinds of racers in the water, some made quite a racket and others were more smooth. They were lifted from the parking lot to the water by a crane that was working full time. We later saw a drone that was out over the race course and saw 4 antique wooden racers on the water course, very neat. There were also larger wooden boats that people were taking rides in that were beautiful. The weather is spectacular, cool and clear. I can understand the big draw this area has during the summer months.
