The Olson's Retirement RV Adventures travel blog

Our scenery across Montana -All we have seen for miles is hay...

And more hay bales.

Finally North Dakota.

Now that looks different.

North Dakota Badlands.

Local resident.

He couldn't hold up a cardboard sign.

Main Street Medora.

Side street.

Restaurant row.

A couple old buildings from the 1800's

The old City Hall and Courthouse.

I just want to mention that we are glad to be out of Montana. Since we left Great Falls there hasn't been much to brag about. One thing we did not mention was that there are casino's everywhere. They are on every corner. All convenience stores have a casino area. You can get your oil changed, a hair cut, or go to a fine dining restaurant which are also a casino. It makes you wonder how they survive. I don't think you will win big jackpots. The highest we saw was $800. There is no tax on food. When they buy something off the $1.00 menu it actually cost $1.00.

Now...North Dakota

Mendora is a small western theme town in the 'Badlands' of North Dakota. We are staying at Red Trails campground. It is walking distance to the downtown and just a few blocks to the entrance of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It is also home to the popular Medora Musical. We will be attending it on Thursday night.
