Elephant Seals!

So cute

Redwood Trees

These cliffs were incredible!

We left Malibu yesterday morning about 7 am and headed North on 101. We drove through beautiful vineyards....glorious rows of deliciousness. :) Then we took CA 1 to drive the famous Big Sur coastline, "The Greatest Meeting of Land and Sea". It did not disappoint!! We stopped for lunch near San Simeon State Park, where we saw a group of black tail bucks and a fawn. About 5 miles later, we were viewing hundreds of elephant seals resting on the beach. It was amazing! We continued on looking at the views of the cliffs, and ocean waves crashing onto the large rocks. Without reservations, we ended up camping in a day use only parking lot at the Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and had to be out by 9 am today. We were just thankful to spend the evening next to a 1,100 year old Colonial Redwood and explore the park for a few hours. The girls took a chilly dip in the Big Sur River. We all slept well although is gets pretty chilly at night! We left this morning and continued our drive on the coast. Once in-land we passed thousands of acres of agriculture. The scenery is never dull in CA, that is for sure. We even saw a group of elk! We are now on our way to Yosemite!
