Our hiking trips today were to Bridalveil Falls. It was pretty but already the water is drying up. They are in a severe draught here. We heard also that two more fires were burning in the area. Next we stopped at Merced Groves to see the Giant Sequoias but only to find out that it was a two mile hike down a very steep and windy path, so we decided to go anyway... BUT .... we got about 2/3 of the way down and it was getting steeper and steeper, so we decided we better stop and head back up. What a trip that was. With the high altitude and heat we were glad to slowly reach the top again. We decided these hikes were for the young and fit. Before leaving the park, we stopped to look at The Ahwahnee Hotel. Spent evening with neighbors Walt & Pam from San Diego by fireside tonight.
