The Alaska Ferry does not go to Prince of Wales Island so we hopped the Inter-Island ferry Stikine for a 3-hour run from Ketchikan to Hollis on PWI.

Prince of Wales Island is humongous, the 3rd largest in the US (after the Big Island in Hawaii and Kodiak Island, Alaska).

We just couldn’t go by PWI without seeing it, right?

We ruled out two dumpy RV parks outside Craig. When we got to the Rain Country RV Park in Craig, it was about 8 PM. Luckily the owner was working on his main business across the street. He’s an interesting fellow who said he’s going to the Ukraine. I asked if he was a Ukrainian and was going to defend the motherland.

He said “No. There are 5 people in the Ukraine who speak only English and I know 3 of them.” Ohhhh Kaaay.

Up shot? We should be prepared for very interesting Alaskans!

By the way, the RV park had the water and sewer connections within the gravel parking lane. See the picture for the care that was needed to avoid them.

Rain all night.
