The wedding party

Richard at morning tea after church.

St James Anglican, Waitara

Friday saw us going back across Sydney to Waitara to Mari and Eric's and more rain but Saturday dawned fine and sunny.

The Anglican Church near Mari's was holding a mini fete in the morning so we all trundled up there collecting Liv, Mari's 1 year old granddaugter on the way. 2 bagfuls later we returned to get ready for the wedding.

We had an hour's drive across heavy city traffic to Croydon to the wedding but got there just in time. Our Goddaughter, Jacqui, looked beautiful and the wedding was a wonderful Christian celebration and as God blessed the happy couple He also smiled upon them with fine weather after a week of wet, stormy and somewhat miserable weather. We were thrilled to have had the opportunity to have been at the wedding and to catch up with old friends again.

On Sunday, after church at St James, where the fete had been, Mari took us to meet a couple of old friends of hers. The chap was very interesting. His distinctions include winning the world disabled bowls championship, medals or championships in disabled sailing, having something to do with trotters (horses) and being awarded the Australian disabled volunteer of the year award (and I've probably missed some). The lady has recently taken up an interest in orchids and has what look like hundreds propagating in green houses in the back yard and they are both heavily involved in renovating their house.

Eric, as usual, is busily involved with helping his son, John, with the renovations to his house which is just along the street. Mari had just been landed with crates of papers which she was trying to make sense of for the historical society for which she does voluntary work. Still Mari and I were able to explore some of her many craft activities. She astounds me with the variety of things she comes up with for her craft stall.
