This weekend I took a trip to the Gold Coast to visit some friends I met from my Byron bay and orientation group. My flight got me there at 7 am Friday morning so I could have a full day. My boarding pass for the flight was literally just a text message and I never once showed ID at the airport, which scares me a little. Once I got to Gold Coast airport I took a bus to my friends apartment which is right near Surfers Paradise. Day one we went to Movie world which is a theme park. We did all the roller coasters , the best one being Superman, which has a hydraulic launch and hit 4.2 on the g force scale. After this park we went next door to wet n wild. Of course we did all the slides including one where you stand vertical in an in closed slide and the floor drops below you right after a 3-2-1 countdown. Day 2 was a beach day in Surfers Paradise. We hung out on the beach all day and walked around the town. Day three was started with a trip to Sea World. We went on a cool jet ski roller coaster ride, a roller coaster/ log flume ride, pet some sting rays and saw a dolphin show. My friends had a crappy time. They both got pooped on by a bird at the dolphin show. I should've been sitting where one of them was but I had them move over so I wouldn't have to sit so closely to the odd couple next to me. After Sea world we headed to the beach for lunch and gelato. We headed back to the apartment then I went off to the airport. I'm currently waiting in the baggage/check in line which is at a crawl because their systems shut down and everything has to be done manually now. My flight will definitely be delayed but that's just my luck with planes. Don't forget to check out my photos of the trip and get ready to read about my first wake boarding experience. Next weekend I'm going to a lake with wakeboard/ski club.
Change of plans. My flight back home to Sydney got cancelled. Apparently there is a huge power outage. They cancelled the flight and everyone ran to the help desks. I won. I'm now staying at a hotel until my flight tomorrow at 7 am.
Stay gnarles my friends
