Ron finds yet another letter box, in Mirool

Day 3 - Tuesday 25th. (Ron)

After another good nights sleep, we departed at 8:30 heading for West Wyalong. Morning tea was under a tree in one of the main road's rest areas and then lunch at Forbes. The lunch location was a treat. A park is located along the water way - not sure if it is river or a side canal. Very relaxing and we spent an hour and a half doing not much. "What did you say? That's what Ron normally does?" "Don't be cheeky, I hadn't finished". After 420kms for the day, we arrived at a 'town' called Mirool. Population 25. A pub built in 1916 and 5 large grain silos. Apart from an immaculately kept toilet block with hot showers for a gold coin donation, the main claim to fame for this tiny town is the annual 'Mirrool Silo Kick'. The goal, pardon the pun, is to kick a football over the top of the silos. Apparently there is lots of fun, lots of footballs and I guess not many successes. There's even a mini set of silos for kids to have a go at.

The free camping area has 4 power boxes, and for $10 you can have power, which we've done so we can have the luxuries of hair dryer, microwave and air conditioning. It's a bit like roughing it really!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow we will be in Victoria, so I guess it will be fruit for breakfast, m/tea, and lunch - ie eat it all before we cross into the fruit fly control zone.
