Costa Rica - January 2014 travel blog

Thursday, February 6: Feeling sad that our Earthwatch leatherback turtle project Is coming to an end while at the same time, we are all excited to be meeting up with our husbands in a few short hours! The 3 women had made the decision to venture off to Costa Rica together for the service project and then the husbands would join us for a 9 day Caravan tour around the country and today was that day.

We all gathered up our belongings, packed our bags, bought our bags of Costa Rican coffee, and headed off to our last breakfast at Tike's Place. Our meals took an extra long time to arrive, which was good as it gave us all more time to chat and discuss the past 9 days that we had spent together.

We were driven back to Tamarindo and got ready to board our tiny plane back to San Jose. After landing and gathering our bags, we said farewell to Lynsey, our new dear friend from the UK. We are all looking forward to staying in touch with this delightful woman!

Once we arrived at our new hotel, we met up with our husbands and our tour guide who would be with us for the next 9 days. We also found out that Doug Miller's luggage got delayed on Wed due to weather and now Steven Davies was in the same situation. He was resourceful enough to plan ahead so he wasn't desperate yet.... Let's see how long it takes for that bag to appear.

After a beautiful dinner and a quick orientation meeting about our travel plans, it was time to call it a day.
