|After leaving Seaforth and its abundance of bird life and few fish we headed to Yeppoon which is about 30 kms east of Rockhampton. The last time I was in Yeppoon was in 1970 on an exercise while I was in the RAAF. Ah things have definitely changed.
While I was in Seaforth I received a phone call from the Harley Davidson Consortium Centre in Sydney. They said I needed to complete a Stat Dec (which they sent me) and they would get back to me.
I thought it sounded a bit exciting but was not holding my breath.
When we were driving around Rocky I found Rockhampton Harley Davidson so we wandered in just to have a bit of a look. While I was in there I received a phone call from a very nice man who confirmed that I had in fact won a Harley Davidson Super Glide FXDC motor bike. How good is that? Its about $25,000 worth of beautiful machinery. Of course I took the opportunity to have a couple of photos taken of Lily and I with a Harley similar to the one we were going to receive. We have probably seen heaps of the area around Rocky and Yeppoon but its mostly a bit of a blur.
Rocky Harley Davidson had a 'demo' weekend where you could put your name down and go for a ride on a Harley.
Of course I took the opportunity and rode two models.
They are fantastic.
Lily has already name the bike and of course it is not rocket science but she called it 'Black Jack'.
Ah life is good.
