|Had a nice day in Palomas, Mexico yesterday. We both had an extensive eye exam and determined our prescription for eyeglasses had changed enough that it warranted a couple of new pair. Larry decided to forgo the clip-ons and had a pair of 'real' sunglasses made with one of his old frames. He loves them! We both had a new pair of glasses made as well. Neither of us keep our glasses on much, so we are very hard on them. More times than not you will see them hanging on our shirts with the magnetic holders we use. But occasionally they come in handy. We pretty much need them for clearer TV watching. And of course we both use store bought readers. That's where our real issues lie.
After picking out our new frames we headed over to the Pink Store for a nice lunch. This store/restaurant caters to American visitors and has a nice menu & terrific margaritas. They offer you one as soon as you enter the premises which enhances your shopping experience greatly! We don't normally purchase anything as our home is 'all filled up' but we enjoy checking the many different products made here in Mexico. If I had a yard or fence to decorate I would have a field day with all of the choices available.
We met a couple of very nice guys this trip, Armand and Larry. We chatted a bit in the doctor's office and then ran into them again in the restaurant. They invited us to join them and we had an interesting couple of hours visiting together while we all waited for our glasses to be ready. We exchanged email/phone info and hopefully we will meet them again on down the road. All too soon it was time to pick up a few things from the Pharmacy next door and return to the vision center for our glasses. We were quite pleased with their work, once again. Just over $300 for 5 pairs of glasses and an ear wax removal for Larry. And two exams to boot! Can't beat that for sure!!!
We've moved on now and are in Arizona for a couple of days visiting with family & friends. But more on that later. And, I still have to get the Carlsbad Caverns post up, just haven't had time to sort through the almost 300 photos I took that day. And no, I won't post them all, you can breathe now, lol! So, thanks for stopping by and come back soon....
