The Camp at Mylestom

Pool shenanigans

24th October

Leaving Tweed Heads this morning. We have enjoyed our stay here & has been great catching up with Chris, Alyssa and Levi and Steve as he begins a new job in Queensland.

We are heading to Mylestom where we will be meeting up with Trevor, Carol and Grace as we continue our trek home. The further we travel the heavier the clouds become, finally getting heavy rain around Ballina. We are seeing lots of ongoing major roadworks but have no holdups at this stage.

Our stop for the night is a free camp at Halfway Creek Roadhouse, about 50kms out of Coffs Harbour. The free camp is behind a truckie stop. The Coles express servo has a great restaurant with an all day menu at a good price.

25th October

We are back on the road after a good night's sleep. Surprised that the trucks haven't disturbed us at all during the night. The Queensland Deaf Caravaning Club were our neighbors for the night, the only noise we heard from them was a noisy water pump. Waking up to a sunny day we head to Coffs Harbour. We will do a shop here before we head to our next stop. Mylestom is 25kms south of Coffs.

As we head into Coffs we are travelling through major roadworks but once again we are not being held up. Well not by roadworks the car in front wants to travel at 60kms when the sign says 80km. Very frustrating for everyone.

Finally we arrive at the park. First impressions, very friendly staff, large easily accessed sites.Mylestom is a small quiet village located a short five minute drive off the Pacific Highway. The village is nestled between the ocean and the beautiful Bellingen River.

All settled in enjoying the atmosphere.

The pool is great, Carol and I are making great use of the pool.

The beach is a short walk away.

This morning we are heading to Urunga to have lunch at the pub and a look around. Urunga is a small town on in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, in Bellingen Shire. It is famous for its surf spots, reefs, beaches and mouth of two rivers,Bellingen & Kalang.
