“Where is home?” That is a question we get quite often when we meet people. At first, I told people that we travel full-time in our RV but then they would ask “Well, where WAS home?” So now my typical spiel is that we retired from our jobs in California, sold our house and now live full time in our trailer.

You can pick up an Escapee’s Club bumper sticker that reads “Home is where you park it.” However, I think that Pico Iyer, a writer born in India, raised in the UK and who has traveled the world does a better job of answering this question.

Here is a link to the video of from one of his Ted Talks appropriately titled Where is Home?

The transcript is also available if you prefer to read his story rather than watch the video. Select your language from the "Show Transcript" drop-down box and the transcript will appear.

Home for us for the past week has been Prescott Valley, Arizona. We enjoyed the folk festival in nearby Prescott and a short urban hike in the Willow Dells with its slick rock and odd shaped rocks.

You know that winter is coming when the weather really starts to fluctuate. One day the wind is calm and warm, the next day winds blow at 25 miles per hour. The nighttime temperature also has been dropping. Time to move further south.

So, if the weather cooperates we will be moving south to Mesa tomorrow before heading to Benson, Arizona.
