Parade before OutHouse Races

One Pair of OutHouses racing

The Propulsion

Emerald Bay on Southwest side of Lake Tahoe

We moved 40 miles from Reno to Minden Nevada for a Newmar RV Rally last Friday. We went to Virginia City in Saturday for their annual Outhouse Races. There were about 30 entries that participated in a double elimination on Saturday afternoon. The finals will be on Sunday. They race uphill on Main Street for about 300 feet. Each outhouse must weigh at least 200 pounds including one person steering. The outhouse is pushed by two runners. It was really a blast watching.

On Sunday we drove west over to Lake Tahoe and drove a loop around the west shore for a total of about 100 miles. We had never seen Lake Tahoe before. This lake is the third deepest freshwater lake in the USA at sixteen hundred feet deep! The lake is crystal clear and very cold and very beautiful.
