We almost always go camping in the Adirondacks in the fall to enjoy the beautiful foliage. The old camper is on its last legs, so we left it home and are staying in a hotel for the first time (in the Adriondacks).

We are staying 3 nights at the Water's Edge Inn in Old Forge. We have a room with a small living area, fridge, microwave, and small balcony overlooking first lake. It is located within walking distance to shopping and restaurants, though we have noted that many of the restaurants, like The Muffin Patch are closed Mondays & Tuesdays.
