We left Leesburg Virginia early on Wednesday morning and travelled I-91 North through Virginia into Pennsylvania. Unfortunately we travelled most of this trip through some heave rain showers. At Scranton we turned East on I-84 through more rain to Port Jervis where we picked up NYS Route 209 North to Stone Ridge. All of the rain stopped and we even had some blue skies. For those of you followed along last year you may remember my visit while we were staying in Manhattan. Well Tony is the very much same only one year older. This November he will turn 98 and still has the same great personality as always. We met with him, his son Tony Jr. and his daughter Maryann who lives nearby and recently lost her husband Frank. His picture has been added to a wall in Tony's "Man Cave" respectfully referred to as "Boot Hill"! Tony and his family are some of my closest relatives I remember since my youth and always look forward to seeing them whenever I can. For those of you who met Uncle Tony on his visits to PGA National, you know just how great he is.
Short that it was, it was worth every minute but the object of this trip was getting to Maine. We had to be in Watch Hill, Rhode Island the next day so we headed out to shorten that leg of our trip. I got behind the wheel and MJ got on the computer to find us pet friendly accommodations along the way. We'll be back in the touring mode in our next entry. Stay Tuned.
