I had the priviledge of getting a half day off so I could go up to Drea's party where she is showing off the great work she has done to renovate an old house in the city of Troy. I had a small hand in it and am glad to know her and help her out when and as I can. I didn't let her know ahead of time and she had the impression I wouldn't make it because I work on weekends. But having the chance to see the finished product and seeing people I haven't seen in a few years was priceless!
I stayed overnight at Pat and Judy's house then went to Grandma's in Albany for breakfast. That was my favorite restaurant when I lived and worked there. While there, I realized that this is August and Monday and the track at Saratoga is open! The date even fit with the way I bet horses (8-19 and there was even a race starting at 3:41 - perfect!) I won the first race but no others. Horses 8 and 9 scratched in the race that started at 3:41, so there went that bet and hope of winning! But I relished the opportunity to be there!
