Things are beginning to slow down at the Visitor’s Center – there were less than 250 visitors today. The real activity began when we got home. Ernie and Pam joined us for dinner, as they had just arrived from Anchorage. We had a great time reconnecting and hearing about their trip. Dinner was grilled Sockeye Salmon – Kenai red from Mark, grilled potato salad, and a fresh green salad.
Afterward we went for a ride to show them the town – up on Skyline for some beautiful views of Kachemak Bay and Spit, then across Diamond Ridge to view the fireweed in gorgeous bloom. What sights. On the way down West Hill, we spotted a moose and calf, and John was able to turn around to get some beautiful shots of them together. Ice cream at Jelly Bellies completed our evening.
