|Today we took the Pajero into town (just 5 minutes drive) and left it with the Mitsubishi dealer to have the headlight replaced. We spent the time checking out the shops (not a lot to check out), and having coffee in the very nice coffee shop. We decided to dispense with the diet and have a pie for lunch. A bit disappointing, but we got it out of our system.
Took the newly repaired Pajero for a wash. Alan is happy now that the red dust has been removed.
Still 32degs today. We were picked up at the Caravan Park to go on the Thomson River Cruise, dinner and show at 4.30pm.
We thoroughly enjoyed the evening, firsty we were taken on the Paddlewheeler up the Thomson River and served nibbles while we watched the sunset over the river. We were then entertained by barefooted Scotty with his very funny tales and poems. We were served dinner and damper and then taken down to the river bank to watch a sound and light show. The show included lighting up the river behind the screen during the story of a notorious cattle duffer Harry Redford/ Captain Starlight) in the early days in the outback.
We were then served billy tea and damper before singing the National Anthem under the star lit sky. They asked for any returned soldiers to go the middle of the circle while the anthem was being sung. Very moving and a great way to finish a fantastic evening.
