Johns Hopkins Glacier

Today, we went back to Glacier Bay again. What a total difference from last Friday when we were here going northbound and it was cloudy that day. Today was clear, blue sky and I was actually out on deck in my shirt sleeves. That was a first in Glacier Bay, to not need a jacket. It was beautiful! Most of the day is spent cruising into Glacier Bay and listening to the Park Ranger’s narration along the way. We saw some sea lions on an iceberg right by Marjorie Glacier, the most prominent glacier that we look at. We spent about an hour there, then the Captain turned the ship so that the other side can look at it. I usually spend all the time outside on deck so I can go from side to side as I want to. It was so nice today weather-wise, I probably got a little sunburn.

Kasey spent some time this afternoon in the HAL Kids Club. They took the kids to the Culinary Center to make chocolate chip cookies; spent some time viewing glaciers; Pictionary and also did some drawings. We went to dinner about 5:30 pm so he could go back for the evening kids club at 7 pm. We’ll go get him later, as there is a magician show in the showroom lounge tonight at 10 pm.

I’ll post some pictures from today. This may be the last pictures that I can post until later. I forgot that this website (the free one) only allows 150 pictures during 30 days, so until my 30 days is up, I won’t be able to post any more for now. If I can get on the internet long enough to find out how to remove some from last week, then I can post more (can’t total more than 150). I didn’t think 150 for 14 days would be so hard, but it’s hard picking just 10 pictures/day or so! When I get home and can post more later this month, I will get them back on and let you all know when I have done that.

That’s pretty much it for now. I’ll still post a narration for each day, I just may not be able to add pictures until later, or after I get home. I hope you’re enjoying this.

Tomorrow I’m going to go on a photographic guide tour and hopefully learn some photo tips to try with my new camera that I’ve been using; then Mom and I are going to take a tour of the town of Haines. Dad and Kasey are going to go on a freshwater lake fishing trip for the afternoon. We’ll see how that goes for the guys!

Tomorrow…Haines AK!
