We divided and conquered today. John, Lydia and Reba went out on a morning half-day halibut charter and enjoyed fishing success. The sea was glass when they left, but when they got around the point and headed toward the Gulf of Alaska, the waves were around 6’, so it was pretty rough. John caught the first halibut in the charter, and was the first one to limit out with his second halibut. Lydia’s fishing rod went over the boat, and John caught that rod on his line about 15 minutes later. What a deal.

Melita and I went kayaking at Peterson Bay – the water was glass and only a little breeze came up at the end of the paddle. It was beautiful.

We all joined together again at the Sour Dough bakery for lunch around 2 pm, and then went home to all rest. About 5:30, we all decided that we didn’t need dinner, so we went out to the spit and had Spit Licks ice cream – our dessert for lunch!

As the sky was so pretty, we drove up to the Skyline overlook and gave everyone a chance to ooooh and ahhh. It is breathtaking up there! We all came home and collapsed – that 4 am alarm was really early.
