Allysa ready for pizza party for 8th birthday

Its been relaxing in fleet: An occasional walk up the street to replenish supplies; an 8th family birthday party at pizza express for Alyssa;

LISTENING to a bit of cricket. its a bummer not being able to see any of it on TV, unless you have Fox. Murdoch got the contract 3 years ago. I bet it now hasn't put him any further up the popularity polls with the locals. Not having cricket on free to air, when the Ashes are at home is really off!

And finally doing some booking for hire car and first few nights accommodation for Scottish trip (which is now Jennie, Alyssa and me).

The hire car was a bit of a run around. Jennie was looking for best price, with an available car, which seemed to be Thrifty. We went to pick it up, armed with passports drivers license and plane travel (date of exit from country). Then we found out the surcharge for me (over 70) was 12 pounds a day. Jennie then decided she could do all the driving as we wouldn't be doing that much each day. Driver had to pay; Jennie had a Post Office card where you have you foreign currency loaded on; hire car places don't accept those. She didn't have a credit card with her either. But I couldn't pay unless I was driving. SO back onto the contract I went . Half an hour later we were looking at our car. Only done 340 miles. The key doesn't start the car. you push a button instead. We've already had some fun with the wipers and flickers. They are on the opposite side to what we're used to.

Did I mention having a coffee fix while shopping?

And eating all Matt's cherries and strawberries, for breakfast lunch and tea!! They are really yummy

There are strawberries thick under the leaves. There are more strawberries under the trampoline. But there are also nettles there, as Jennie found out! Ouch.
