Up early and heavy rain that had started early in the morning continued. We ate breakfast and got on the bus and of to Manuel Antonio National Park. We made our way to a nice secluded beach with mild waves and a great view of the ocean. We did all sorts of beach stuff – swim, sand castles, buri3d each other…

I took a loop walk through the jungle and the wildlife was small but amazing – red crabs on land, huge trees, ragged coastline and a long way down the cliff side. Other critters were a raccoon, hermit crabs, and other sea life. Saw a sloth in a tree near the beach. A troupe of squirrel monkeys came through – one with a baby on her back.

Anna – a German friend of Estaban’s from a tour a year ago stopped by and joined the group. We made our way out of the park and saw several iguanas eating some fallen fruit – big things! We ate supper on the beach – fresh fish caught that afternoon. Alice and Veronica bought some nice dresses from the local vendors as well.

Back at the hotel we had a nice dinner then the rain started again – quite heavy. Alice and Veronica put on a fashion show with their new dresses. I did a bit of school work. I also seem to have gotten a bit of a sunburn.
