It was a busy day at the Visitor’s Center – over 530 guests. In one family, there was a 4 year old boy – tow head, wearing a onesie. It was navy blue and bright yellow, it had a yellow hood, raincoat material, the pants stuffed into tiny Extra-Tuff boots. He was Alaskan through and through.

I spoke with LOTS of families with children. After one family found all of the ‘secret doors’ in the exhibit, one little boy came back and gave me a shiny new penny for ‘good luck.’ It was really sweet.

We tried an experiment for dinner, that didn’t work very well. We tried pizza on the grill. We cooked the crust first, brought it inside and dressed it with sauce, hamburger and cheese, all placed on the cooked side. Then oiled the grill again and put the pizza, uncooked side down on the grill to finish. The crust was cooked through, and we were able to add ingredients inside and then more cheese, a few moments in the micro, and it was done. BUT, we decided it was too much of a hassle. Hey Jay, got any ideas???
