|We spent a peaceful night and got off to an early start this morning. We traveled US Hwy 189 to I-40 and eventually hit I-80 as we made our way to Rawlins, Wyoming. We went through the pretty little town of Heber City and wow, did it bring back some good memories. It was one of our first stops as full time RV'ers back in 2006. We were such newbies. We'd traveled wayyyy too long and late that day and wound up overnighting at the curb of a really cute little city park. I can't believe the cops didn't come run us off!
We whizzed past the pretty Jordanelle Reservoir and once again experienced some great memories! We traveled a different route last year and I forgot how pretty this drive is. Bridal Veil Falls was nice as usual, although we didn't take the time to stop and hike to it. The whole area was very green and lush, must have had a great winter snow. If we weren't so anxious to get to Custer we'd have stopped overnight in Green River and done the Flaming Gorge loop again. I never tire of it's beauty. But, not this time around.
There weren't near as many Pronghorn grazing along I-80 this year. At first we wondered if they'd gathered them all up and moved them to a different area. Sort of like the buffalo roundup in Custer State Park?? LOL
Arrived at the RV World Campground around 5:30pm and were set up quickly. Had an earlier than usual dinner and then I decided to take a short nap. Woke up at 11pm so of course it will be difficult to go back to sleep for the rest of the night. Arghhhhh, shouldn't have done that. We move on to Casper in the morning. Looking forward to seeing family and spending Father's Day with my hubby and Uncle Ed too. We're meeting for lunch at noon so we'll need to get moving fairly early in the morning. So goodnight and thanks for stopping by....
