Cathedral of The Holy Saviour

Pushkin museum from the cathedral "balcony" note copper roof

Looking back to the Kremlin

Gold entrance to Freiburg Cathedral - another cast

Started the day with another Metro trip, this time to the Cathedral of the Holy Saviour. Highlight was going up to the balcony including the bell towers but we were very glad to have our earphones when the bells started to ring and continued for nearly 10 min. We have earphones as we are all connected back to our guide - very swish and saves her shouting.

Great views back to the river and the Kremlin, in fact all round the city.

Then to the Pushkin Museum - the National art gallery for an over view. Lunch today was at a Georgian restaurant - Georgia is back in favour as previous President did not like Georgia and banned the mport of Georgian wines. Lovely spicy food and fantastic bread but rolling out to the nearby addition to the Pushkin museum was an effort. Julia our guide did a great job as usual taking us through this building with its collection from pre to post impressionism. A wonderful collection well displayed. Back to the Metro and our neighbourhood bar where three of us took tea as we revived.

I'm writing this in same bar enjoying a delicious sundae with raspberries, blue berries, red currants, strawberries plus three ice cream flavours all with a dash of free WiFi plus pianist - good value

Off tomorrow to s monastery 70 k from Moscow.
