We left Meandarra Wednesday morning. On our last evening we wandered up to the pub to partake of their $10 whiteboard menu. Excellent value, I enjoyed the crumbed steak with veges while Greg had the curried chicken. Blu and Elaine also had the crumbed steak a meal enjoyed by all. Always get good value meals in the small town pubs.
I know I have been talking a lot about the condition of the roads but travelling from Meandarra to Condamine was a very scary drive. The roads were very narrow in very poor condition. A road train travelling in the opposite direction had full use of the road and no way known was he going to pull to the side. Greg had to pull over and stop as he passed us. Further down the road a wallaby jumped out of the scrub narrowly missing us, unfortunately for the caravan on the other side, he wasn't so lucky as he went under their van. We had no room to pull over to help so hope the damage wasn't too bad. Then we got rocks flicked up a few more chips in the windscreen. Hope it will last till we get home.
We were pleased to arrive to our destination in one piece. We are staying on a property about 20 kms out of Chincilla belonging to a friend of Elaine and Blu. Not sure how long we will be here as Blu and Elaines truck has been taken to the doctor on the RACQ truck.
Getting lots of walks in and saw an Emu yesterday. Haven't seen any other animals. Hearing lots of birds and dingoes howling at night.Blu is making full use of his hunter, gatherer skills, keeping us well supplied with fire wood & yabbies
