Desert Scene

We moved up to Dewey-Humboldt, a small town near Prescott Valley, on the 17th of April. So, we will be here until at least May 16th.

Before leaving the Valley of the Sun, we took time to visit the Desert Botanical Gardens with the Butterfly Gardens in Phoenix, the Williams- Boyce Arboretum State Park and the Bartlett Lake Recreation Area (part of the Tonto National Forest) north of Phoenix in the Cave Creek area. Nice things to see in both, and some pretty easy hiking in the latter. We also went to the Arizona Opry in Apache Junction with our friends, Dale and Molly Clark from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The Arizona Opry is a musical show operated by a family of musicians that sing, play a variety of musical instruments as well as greet, cook and serve dinner at the show. We have now visited 4 times. The act has four or five different shows so you will not get a case of "been there, done that" ho-hums!

It seems like there are always things to do in the Phoenix area, so many that we just try to do three or four a year especially if we get a two-for-one deal or find a coupon!
