David & Pamela - Around Australia 2013/2014 travel blog

Before the storm

Although the day was nice a storm was forecast for the evening. The wind was quite high and the trees swayed so much that we couldn't get TV reception very well so we moved our position to a more open spot still alongside the Murray.

Beside the political storm, the wild storm hit in the evening with overhead thunder and lightening and large hail and strong winds. Then the wind really started and the hail and rain came. I was keeping away from the skylight in case one came through which David assured me it wouldn't. I wondered if the wind would knock us over but again David was very confident that of course it wouldn't.

We were ok though and survived it well with no damage. But now we hear that Yarrawonga had a mini tornado with injuries, trees down, caravans overturned and flooding of the town. So we're thankful to God it didn't come our way, even though we're only a few kilometres west of the town.
