I spent yesterday going through 2012's photos! Oh my, I took a few, lol! But did they ever bring back some awesome memories. And a few 'painful' one's too. Not life and death painful, just 'frustratingly painful'. Wow, does that make sense? Of course I'm referring to truck issues caused by 'bad' diesel, incompetent mechanics and out and out thieves. But, things always seem to work out and we've learned to take them in stride. There are always maintenance 'issues' to handle as well, but that's the case whether you live in a 'stick' house or a home on wheels. And I certainly wouldn't want to ever change our current lifestyle over any of them, at least not right now. And not in the foreseeable future either. It was a terrific year and looking back really made us realize how truly blessed we are.
This particular post covers our time spent in Vegas in the first quarter of 2012 followed by a month visit to Willow Beach, Arizona and Hoover Dam. We came back through Vegas in May, headed to Ely and then made our way into Utah where we visited Capitol Reef NP and Arches NP. We then moved on to Colorado and visited Ouray, drove the Million Dollar Highway and took a tram ride in the cool town of Telluride. And if you've been following this blog for long you know that we eventually made our way to South Dakota where we spend every summer.
So today's highlight photos will end there. Hopefully it won't be too many pics for one post. I wish I could do a running dialog like many do in other journal formats but trip journal doesn't work that way. So, please bear with me as I make this as interesting and informative as I can. If you have any suggestions or comments we'd sure like to hear from you!
As we travel along we will cover visits to Wyoming, Idaho, Yellowstone, Washington, the Olympic Peninsula, Oregon, Clearlake, California, Reno, Ely and finally Vegas. Which is where we've been for the past month. I hope you find the journey enjoyable. We certainly saw some fantastic places and amazingly beautiful scenery. Not to mention tons of wildlife, lakes, rivers, canyons etc....You get the idea. State parks and National Parks are wonderful. I never realized there were so many! We're looking forward to exploring many more in 2013. And finally, we were very blessed to have spent time with family and old friends this past year as we moved around to various parts of this great country. And fortunate enough to have made many new one's too! Give us a call if we get in your neck of the woods. We'd love to get together with you!
