After a continental breakfast put out by the trail bosses, some of us went to the Zaca Creek Golf Course for a golf scramble. Of course I could only chip and putt because of the broken wrist. Zaca Creek Golf Course had just reopened and was only staffed on the weekends so it was on our honor to put in $10 each for playing the nine holes. Nice, fun course.
On our free afternoon, 7 of us went to Los Olivos for some wine tasting. My little old wine maker son, Andy, gave me a list of good wineries in the area so I put together a little tour. However as we started a little late in the day, we only went to three that had tasting rooms within walking distance of each other in the town of Los Olivos. Our first stop was at the Stolpman Vineyard and Wine Tasting Room. Then it was on to Tensley Tasting Room, a family run winery. And finally we went to Andrew Murray Wine Tasting Room. Our Los Olivos wine tasting room offers a generous wine flight for $10. To celebrate our sleek new tasting room, please tell our tasting room staff that you'd like the ‘tasting2fer.' We'll give you two tastings for the price of one!” Who could pass up that deal? Plus they served us on the patio. Everyone bought some wine; we bought a bottle at Andrew Murray’s. Where else would we buy?
That evening we barbecued our own meat and brought pot luck salads, side dishes and desserts. And then we played a rousing game of “dumb arse”.
