Carolyn and Greg's Nomadic Adventures travel blog

19th November

Our adventure before dementia finished the 15th November when we arrived in our driveway early afternoon. After being on the road for 31 weeks [and still talking], travelling a bit over 20,000 kms it was great feeling to see the house still standing. Naomi has looked after everything very well.

Some of the memorable highlights of our adventure was being bogged in the wetlands [maybe that was a low light] a croc tour on the Adelaide River. We will never forget the crocodiles swimming up to the boat and eye balling us.

Seeing some of our amazing country, the landscapes constantly changing. Long distances travelled where you saw no one else on the road. Felt like you were the only people around. Still amazed that I actually got into a twelve seater to fly over the Bungle Bungles. An amazing experience. Getting gamer now, next flight in a six seater flying over the horizontal falls and landing at Cape Leveque on a dirt strip and swimming in the Indian ocean. Another experience not to be missed.

A 4wd tour learning about history of the aboriginal people, walking through tunnels with water levels up to our thighs. Climbing in and out of gorges tough going at times but well worth the effort.

The beaches were spectacular especially Coral Bay. Some of the wild weather we encountered down the south west, we will never forget the winds in Walpole. Enjoyed our two farm stays. The highlight of the Nullarbor observing the whales at the Head of the Bight.

Making lots of friends on our travels. Oh well back to reality the gardening and washing till next winter.
