Seeing the USA in our Chevrolet travel blog

We had a very easy 155 mile travel day today after a cold foggy start in Willits. The morning temperature was a crisp 30 degrees but the sun came out and the day became quite comfortable just north of Santa Rosa.

At this, our 250th stop as full timers, we have come back to the park where we started it all back in March of 2006. We spent two weeks at Vineyard RV Park in Vacaville, CA while I finished up my work career in Benicia. During that time Juanita finished sorting through household goods, packed the trailer and moved remaining items into a small storage locker in Benicia. We have since closed out that locker and have most of our possessions in our rolling home. A few plastic storage bins are still located at my mother-in-laws house in Alameda, but we don't even remember what they contain.

Vineyard RV Park has added a nice new section since our last visit in 2006 and we managed to get an excellent back in space for about $51 per night. The price is high, but this is California you know. The new section is very nice with wide paved interior roads, decent grassy strips between rigs and level gravel sites. All the usual amenities are available including very good cable TV. Coupons are issued to nightly visitors for WiFi, but we are using our Verizon and don't know if the Tengo Internet service is any good. The facilities in the park are old but well maintained and the park is very clean.

Juanita was picked up by her son this afternoon and will spend the night with her daughter and two grandkids in Pleasanton. I will take Abbey with me tomorrow afternoon and pick my dear wife up at her Mother's house in Alameda. I am spending a quiet evening alone and watching a NASCAR truck race in Phoenix...not a bad time at all in my lonely man cave. Abbey didn't get much rest today and is sleeping quietly by my side. Ah yes, this is the life!

We are still on schedule for a Sunday morning departure with Bakersfield our next stop. I'll check back in with you all again tomorrow evening.
